Pregnant at the beach 2

Burned belly button - Ten Thousand Hour MamaI just wrote about how I prefer to wear a bikini even though I’m pregnant. I think my growing belly is beautiful, and I don’t mind letting other beachgoers see.

Another pro to wearing a swimsuit while pregnant: You can eat a giant burrito and not worry about slipping into a tiny suit. You can be all, “Hey, that’s totally my baby bump!” and it’s true.

But as I’ve discovered, bikinis while pregnant are not all fun and games. The inside of my poor belly button, which has pretty much never seen the light of day, is a bit sunburned.

So along with putting vinegar on the tops of my feet (gah! I always miss that spot!), I’m using the sunburn-soothing home remedy on my belly button, too. Now I smell like Easter eggs from belly to toes.

A new experience! Despite the sunburn, it looks like you’ve had a lovely time at the beach. Enjoy!

Thank you! It really was wonderful. And I was proud Peeper didn’t so much as get a little pink! Go SPF!

Oh, that is too good, haha! I am surprised that I’ve never heard of using vinegar for sunburns before now. I love those kind of “life hacks”! Thanks for the tip, cheers!

I’m going to have to remember vinegar for sunburns. I had never heard of it before either.

I am usually pretty good at sunscreen so haven’t sunburned for a long time… hopefully I will continue the trend, but if something goes amiss, I will have to try this so called Easter Egg aroma trick you say you use…

Good for you! I try to be vigilant about sunscreen but always seem to miss a spot or two.

I never had the guts to wear a bikini while pregnant and I regret it now. I think it would have been fun.

I love it! Though I was jealous of the other women who could lie on their stomachs in the lounge chairs. I’m way too pregnant for that these days.

Thank you Monica! I’ve also heard you can add ice cubes to a bit of vinegar to make it cold—even more soothing.

Never been pregnant and never worn a bikini. I’m still hoping for the former but prefer not trying the latter. 🙂 Glad you are comfortable in your own skin.

You totally rock the kiwikini. As Beth once suggested while preg with Billy, “Mama go put on your zucchini.” So I’m glad proud you’re carrying on the tradition! LOVE LOVE LOVE
