#MotivationMonday from a toddler’s POV

I’m not sure about you, but I’m having a hard time getting my Monday in gear.

We had a wonderful but slightly hectic weekend, complete with a glam photoshoot, catching up with friends we haven’t seen in way too long, and a brunch with about a dozen babies and their families. (The cuteness quotient was out of control.)

But Daylight Savings is still kicking my rear and I’m feeling stretched very thin.

Happy Daylight SavingsTo help me buck up, I’m channeling Peeper as today’s motivational coach. In my head, I’m thinking of what Peeper might say. Here’s how that’s playing out so far this morning in my #MotivationMonday.

6:30 – Get up with Kiwi, feed her. Then go to the bathroom. “Yay!!! You went pee!” *clapping*

(Thank you positive reinforcement for potty training!)

6:50 – Spill water from the Brita all over the floor. My coordination isn’t awake yet. “That’s ok. When we make a mess we say, ‘Oops,’ then we clean it up.”

7:15 – Check work email. Despair over how I’m going to get anything/everything done this week. “You can do it!”

7:30 – Try for the fourth time to burn a CD for today’s homeschool preschool. “Keep trying.” Or call the Mac repair shop.

7:45 – Get Peeper out of bed. Think about how she no longer naps, so it’ll be go-go-go-go the rest of the day. “I love you, Mama.” *kiss*

And suddenly my case of the Mondays went poof!

Today’s #MotivationMonday lesson: When you need a pick-me-up, just ask yourself WWPS (What Would Peeper Say?). It’s guaranteed to lift you up.

And if for some reason even that doesn’t work, just watch this—three seconds of concise cuteness.

This Monday is tough! Daylight savings time really needs to go away. My kids had a sluggish morning; I feel bad for all of the teachers out there! Love your WWPS 🙂

I feel bad for my husband, a special ed teacher. Any disruption to his kids’ schedules are even harder!

As a classroom teacher, I totally agree – away with DST! It helps so much when you have a cheery disposition though.

The time adjust forward is always a mixed bag – I’m tired but also appreciate more daylight and unmistakable feel of spring is here

Yes, the extra light is good! At least the glimpses of it I see amid the rain today. 😉

I love daylight savings time just for the fact that it stays lighter out later – But I feel your pain too! Everything is a different experience with kids, I’m sure!
