Flowers are probably in Peeper’s top ten favorite things, ranking below milk and baths but above pizza. Whenever she sees flowers, she makes a sniffing noise and squirms to get closer.
They feature in her play, too. When we have bouquets in the house, I periodically give her a flower or two.
She carries them around and offers them to everyone, making a sniff, sniff noise.
Inevitably, though, she finishes by pulling off all the petals. I imagine her reciting, “She loves me, she loves me not” as she plucks them.
Peeper, the answer is yes, no matter whom you’re picking petals for. How could anyone fail to love you?
My daughter loves flowers, too! We have to keep our yard stocked with roses and other blooming things!
I bet! I can’t wait til we live in our own house and have a yard—I have a feeling Peeper will have a big influence on what we grow. (Flowers and strawberries galore!)
What an absolute doll.
how darling! <3

So cute! Every morning while my husband or I water the yard and Suzanna sits watching in the jogger, we give her a mint leaf or other herb to sniff. Now she smells everything, including pictures of flowers.
Haha! I’m getting a kick out of imagining her going crazy over an issue of Sunset. 🙂
She’s such a cutie! As much as I love flowers, my love for pizza is still on top 😉
Haha, her priorities may be a little mixed up, but to each her own! 🙂
Have you read “The Language of Flowers?” It’s a really interesting novel and I bet it would be something special to share with your daughter when she is old enough.
I haven’t, but I just read its description and it sounds interesting! I’ll have to add it to my Goodreads.
Oh, cute! I wonder if it’s because of the details and dynamic nature – they’re pretty but also can be taken apart!
I never thought about flowers this way, but you’re so right!
So sweet! I especially love the bottom photo b/c her feet look huge. Big piggies to tickle! Edie is following in her namesake’s literal footsteps. Gma Edith always had huge flower and strawberry gardens (also rhubarb, but we can leave those out). Peonies and roses were her favorites. How special that I loved my Grandma Edith so, and now I love my Granddaughter Edith so.
Once we have a yard of our own, we’ll definitely plant peonies. They always make me think of Pretty Grandma. xo
Aw, sometimes I miss those stages – they grow up too fast!!
