Well, folks, we’ve made it. Election Day is here. After today, we won’t have to endure attack ads and mailboxes full of political flyers and canvassers knocking on our doors and waking the baby who *just* went to sleep for the love of all things holy.
It’s not a stretch to say that most of the country is feeling a tad anxious today. That’s why I want to fill the internet with happy.
Read on for a smile. Then please—please please—do your own small part to spread happiness and fill the internet with happy!
Movie star dopplegangers
The other morning we had sun in Portland—a surprising and very welcome change from our record-breaking rainfall lately.
As we were getting ready to take Finn for a walk, Peeper put on her sunglasses. (Apparently they just made her rocket ship jammies outfit.) Kiwi is a total copycat kid so of course she wanted to follow suit. Only she doesn’t have any sunglasses, so she settled for goggles.
I snapped this photo of the two of them and shared it online.
Within a few minutes, my cousin and older sister not only pushed “like” but sent me back pictures of their own.
They identified Peeper and Kiwi’s movie star lookalikes.
Pretty accurate, don’t you think?
Will you fill the internet with happy, too?
Good gravy, I laughed so hard over those pictures.
We could all use a little laughter every day. But on Election Day, when just about everyone is glued to the news channel and biting their fingernails over every electoral vote, we could really use a smile.
So join me: Fill the internet with happy!
Post something nice on a friend’s Facebook. Tweet a picture of a baby hedgehog just because. Write a blog post about your favorite childhood memory. (Feel free to share with #filltheinternetwithhappy)
